Sending Tips: the Right US Postage Rate,
When to Mail and How to Save Money

Find the right US postage rate at Cool-Custom-Cards.com. Here you also can get advice on when to mail your invitations and post cards at the right moment.

POST CARDS
STANDARD LETTERS
LARGE ENVELOPES
ODD-SHAPED ENVELOPES

When to mail
With USPS First Class Mail delivery time varies from 1 to 3 days, however, delivery time is not guaranteed by USPS. With USPS Express Mail next day delivery will be guaranteed to most areas.

With USPS First Class International Mail the estimated delivery time according to the U.S.Postal Service is 7 to14 business days for most European countries. But your post can also be delivered much faster. For example a delivery within 4 days to the Netherlands can also be possible.

1) Weigh your mail on a precise scale. Kitchen scales or the scale at the Post Office will do fine. Better don't make estimations. We know too many people who guessed their way into a load of returned invitations and announcements. Better weight it twice … send it once.

2) Consider the shape and find out the right amount below:

- $0.26
- 1 oz or less: $0.41

- 1 to 2 oz: $0.58

- 2 to 3 oz: $0.75

- 3 to 3.5 oz: $0.92

- 1 oz or less: $0.80

- 1 to 2 oz: $0.97

- 2 to 3 oz: $1.14

- 3 to 4 oz: $1.31
- 1 oz or less: $0.58

TIP: Save money by using post cards for RSVP and save-the-dates!
A postcard costs $0.26 and a letter costs $0.41. You can save $0.15 per mailpiece by making your RSVP and save-the-date cards in post card form.
How to calculate the right US postage rate (standard First-Class Mail)
The USPS"s envelope and post card postage amounts depend upon weight and shape:

Best mail your invitations six to eight weeks before the event. Because there's no hurry First-Class Mail will do fine. To those who are not invited you can send an announcement. These should be mailed on the same day of - or immediately after - the event.
